Manifest Your Goals: A Guide to Intention Setting to Unlock Your Dream Life in 2023

Have you ever heard of intention setting or goal manifesting? It’s a powerful tool that can help us create and reach our goals. While it may sound a bit out there, the truth is that intention setting is based on scientific principles and has been used for centuries. If you are reflecting on 2022 and starting to contemplate what you want to create and manifest in 2023, this post will give you the tools to get started. In this blog post, we’ll explore the basics of goal manifesting and how you can use it to make your dreams come true. I’ll also share some of my favourite intention setting rituals and manifestation stories.

What is Intention Setting?

Intention setting is the practice of using focused thought to create something in your life. You set an intention for what you want by focusing on it with your thoughts and feelings, then taking action to make it happen. The idea is that if you focus on what you want with emotion, the universe will align in such a way as to make it happen. In other words, if you put your energy into something positive, positive things will be attracted to you! Did you realize that you are already manifesting everything in your life right now? Wait- What?! I know that can be a hard pill to swallow if you aren’t currently happy with certain aspects of your life but having this awareness is the first step in creating change.

How To Set Intentions

Step 1:

The first step in goal manifesting is to set a clear intention. This means being specific about what you want and why you want it. Think about what exactly it is that would make you happy—not just what society tells us we should do or have—and write down all the details of why this thing would be so great in your life. Once you have your intention set, think about how achieving this goal would feel—will it bring joy? Peace? Security? Satisfaction? Write these feelings down too; they will become part of your vision board (more on that in a later post). 

Step 2:

Next, visualize yourself achieving this goal with clarity and certainty. Imagine yourself living in a world where this goal has already been realized—what does that look like? What does it feel like? Visualizing yourself living in this reality helps keep your focus on the end result and not get sidetracked by doubts or fears about whether or not it’s achievable.

Step 3:

Finally, take actionable steps every day towards making this dream come true. Taking consistent, inspired action towards your goals will help you achieve them in a way that is in alignment with your core values and personal mission statement. In short- when you have clarity around your goals and intentions, taking action steps won’t feel like a drag when you stay connected to the feeling of already having what it is that you desire.

Letting Go

As you are writing out your dreams and goals that you would like to manifest, you will likely have some limiting beliefs pop up. Things like-

“How could I ever make that much money?”

“I should just be happy with what I have.”

“Who do I think I am?”

“What will be partner/family/co-workers think of me?”

“I’m too lazy/unfocused/unpretty/etc”

That’s completely normal! Don’t let those thoughts bring you down or stop you. These are just the stories that your ego is trying to get you to believe to keep you playing small. I’ll share more about ways to let go of limiting beliefs in a future post but for now a simple way to let go and release those thoughts that are holding you back is this…

Write them all out on a piece of paper. Rip it up. Put it in a Pyrex bowl and take it outside and let it burn. Sometimes you’ve got to let go of the old and give yourself permission to embrace the new. Ways to Boost Your Manifestations

  • Create a Vision Board with words and images that represent your desired manifestations. Put it in a place where you will look at it daily.
  • Meditate. Slow your breathing and tap into your higher self that already knows the feeling of living your desired intentions.
  • Keep a goal poster or tracker up where you can see it daily to remind you of the actions needed to take to achieve your goals.
  • Practice gratitude. End your day by thinking about what the best part of your day was and linger in the feelings of thankfulness.
  • Trust! When you have clear vision and are taking inspired action- the universe will answer. It might not be in the timeline you thought or packaged in a way that you expected. Remind yourself that everything is always working out for you.
